Resources + Tools

Time is money, you know.

*Any affiliate links will be marked with an asterisk, but rest assured: I only recommend tools that I actually use and love!

These tools are how I save both.

Workflow & project management

Dubsado* - My client and project management tool of choice. I use it for proposals, contracts (they have templates!), invoicing, scheduling, project tracking, time tracking, and expense tracking. Get one month free with my link.

Click Up* - The best task management tool out there. Better than Trello, Asana, Monday, and Basecamp (I’ve used them all). Even better? It’s free forever.

G Suite - An oldie but a goodie, this has your email, calendar, and all the other Google tools you know and love.

Shift* - This is a desktop app that lets you sign into multiple email accounts and apps all in one central location. It’s definitely killed how many tabs and other Chrome user windows open and I am not sure I can live without it.

Later* - My (current) Instagram planning and scheduling app. Get 10 free posts a month with my link.
(Worthy competitors: Planoly, Plann, Coschedule, Buffer)

Tailwind* - Pinterest planning and scheduling. Get your first month free with my link.

Flodesk* - Email marketing made beautiful. It’s in public beta right now but they’re adding new features all the time. I’m pretty obsessed. It’s a flat fee no matter how many subscribers you have or how many emails you want to send out. Get 50% off membership for life with my link.  (Worthy competitors: ConvertKit, MailerLite, Mailchimp)

Google Analytics - You could write a book on Google Analytics (and I’m sure people have). Install it on your site and start exploring.

Slack - I don’t actually use Slack for work anymore but if you have a team that needs to stay connected, I recommend this freeeee tool.

Zoom - How I do video calls. Also free.

Loom - Screen and video recording software. Also free.

Zapier - Connect pretty much any app to save time. Just start playing around, because it’s pretty amazing.

Typeform - Create really beautiful surveys for lead gen, client feedback, or market research.

The Contract Shop - Legally binding contract templates and other legal paperwork. Much cheaper than hiring a lawyer if you don’t need ongoing or complex assistance.

Stripe - My preferred payment processor.

Keeper Tax - How I track expenses and write-offs. Your bookkeeper (who is a real person!) texts you to find out if your purchases are business expenses and will determine your write-offs. (Worthy competitors: Wave and Quickbooks)

Streak - A CRM app that lives in your Gmail inbox and helps you manage leads, track when emails are opened, schedule emails, and use canned emails.

Boomerang - Another Gmail app that will pause your inbox (great for deep focus sessions!), send emails back to the top of your inbox (like an advanced snooze), and schedule emails.

Google Domains - Get that website started! This is the easiest way to buy a new domain. I like that it’s integrated with G Suite!

LastPass - A hyper-secure password vault. Their Chrome extension will automatically fill in any of your passwords for you.

Creative assets

Creative Market* - Download fonts, templates, graphics, and more from real designers.

Moyo Studio* - Incredible stock photos, flat lays, and mock-ups. It’s a membership site but if you sign up for their email list, you get 50 free images(!!!).

Hautestock - Another stock photo membership site. They’ll also send you free photos when you sign up for their email list.

Unsplash - Royalty-free stock photos that don’t look like stock photos.

WhatTheFont by MyFonts - Font identification software, for when you really want that certain typeface.

Canva* - Graphic design made simple for when you don’t want to pull out (or pay for) Illustrator. It’s definitely more limited than anything from Adobe but I think it works great for social media graphics.

Chrome extensions

WhatRuns - Find out what platform a site is built on and any tools or plugins it’s using.

Squarespace Collection / Block Identifier - If you need to know a collection and block ID to use custom CSS on Squarespace, this tool makes it much easier.

CSS Peeper - Check out every aspect of a site’s CSS. Warning: It’s addictive.

SEOquake - Gives you SEO metrics on any website or SERP.

Full Page Screen Capture - Get a screenshot of an entire webpage without tabs or scrolling. You can download the whole thing as a JPG or PDF—perfect for mock-ups!
